How we collect, use and protect personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

1. Who we are
Technical Difficulties (Pty) Ltd (registration 2013/012754/07) (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a South African software consultancy and the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy.
2. Information we collect
We only collect personal information you choose to give us — principally when you submit our contact form or contact us directly. This may include:
- Your name
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Company or organisation name
- The contents of your message or enquiry
Our servers may also keep standard technical logs (for example IP address and browser type) for security and diagnostic purposes.
3. Why we process it
We process your personal information to respond to your enquiry, provide a quotation, deliver services you request, and keep records of our correspondence. We rely on your consent and on our legitimate business interests as lawful bases under POPIA.
4. How we use and share it
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing. We may share information only with service providers that help us operate (such as our email and hosting providers), or where required by law.
5. Retention
We keep enquiry and correspondence records for as long as necessary to deal with your request and to meet legal, tax and record-keeping obligations, after which the information is securely deleted or anonymised.
6. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures — including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and access controls — to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access and misuse.
7. Your rights under POPIA
Subject to the Act, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to its processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact our Information Officer below.
8. Cookies & analytics
This website does not set advertising cookies. If we use privacy-friendly analytics to understand aggregate site usage, it is configured not to identify individual visitors. We load web fonts from Google Fonts to render the site.
